About me: 

Greetings! I am a research fellow in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, University of Pittsburgh, working with Prof Nematollah (Kayhan) Batmanghelich. I hold a joint position in the Department of Philosophy, Carnegie Mellon University, working with Prof Kun Zhang .

I was a PhD student at University of Technology Sydney (2012 - 2017), supervised by Prof Dacheng Tao and co-supervised by Prof Kun Zhang. I received the B.S. Degree in electrical engineering from Nanjing University, Nanjing, China, and the M.S. Degree in communications and information system from Huazhong Unviersity of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

From 03/2013 - 10/2013, I was a research intern at the Empirical Inference Department of Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, supervised by Dr Kun Zhang and Prof Bernhard Schölkopf. From 09/2010 - 01/2011, I was an exchange student at Norwegian University of Science and Technology, supervised by Prof Marius Pedersen.

My research interests include causal inference, machine learning, computer vision, and biomedical informatics.

  • 06/2018, our team won the 1st prize in single image depth prediction competition in Robust Vision Challenge 2018.
  • 06/2018, our paper on disease severity prediction has been accepted to MICCAI18. Congrats to Sumedha Singla.

  • 02/2018, two papers have been accepted to CVPR18. Congrats to Huan Fu and Xiyu Yu.
  • 11/2017, our paper on domain generalization has been accepted to AAAI18 as oral presentation. Congrats to Ya Li.
  • 10/2017, our paper on pose estimation has been accepted to ICCV17 as spotlight presentation.
  • 06/2017, our paper entitled Causal Discovery from Temporally Aggregated Time Series has been accepted to UAI17.
  • 04/2017, I started working at University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University as a research fellow.
  • 04/2016, our paper entitled Domain Adaptation with Conditional Transferable Components has been accepted to ICML16.
